Western Riding : clinic “cutting” with Hank Moss 18-20 October 2014 in Normandy
Published 23 September 2014Western Riding with Hank Moss, a real cowboy from Louisiane, is possible at the Ecuries de la Gare in Normandy, France.
With Hank, you will discover the discipline called “cutting”. You will learn how to seperate a veal from cows and keep them away from the heard. You will also improve western style riding, with yours, or one of our horses.
Three days dedicated to “horesemanship”, with work on a “Pro- cutter” to understand the mecanisme of how it works , kbefore you exercise on real cows.
For good learning we recommend at least two days participation at the clinic.

Published 20 June 2014All year around the Ecuries de la Gare offer horse riding for and hacking in la Manche, Basse Normandie. Kids are also not forgotten : they can ride Shetland ponies on a little tour hold be parents.
Our horses are especially suitable for beginners, because our cavalry is extremely calm and docile .
Kids can ride, hold by their parents , on our little Shetland Ponies. We propose a 30 minutes tour around our equestrian centre, which at the same time, is a nice walk for their parents !

A day ride out on Shetland ponies to the beach of Quineville in Normandy during August 2013
Published 1 August 2013Les Ecuries de la Gare in La Manche propose a lot of exciting riding activities for small children on ponies but also for adults or teenagers during holidays.

For example a day trekking on Shetland ponies were oganized for kids. The young riders left our stables, near Valognes and Montebourg, in accompanied by some courageous parents in walking and sometimes trotting Sie banden die Ponies so an, dass diese fressen konnten un assen dann selbst irh Mittagessen auf der Wiese.
Danach ging es weiter and den Strand, an dem verschiedene Spiele veranstaltet wurden, wie z. B. ein Wettrennen.
Die Ponies verhielten sich vorbildlich und es war ein grosser Spass für die kids. Als das Meer immer mehr anstieg, machte sich die Gruppe auf den Heimweg.

Published 1 August 2013Les Ecuries de la Gare in La Manche propose a lot of exciting riding activities on ponies but also for adults or teenagers during holidays all year around.
In the morning on our way to the beach :

For example a day trekking on Shetland ponies was organized for kids. The young riders left our stables near Montebourg and Valognes accompagnied by their riding teacher Emmanuelle and some courageous parents in the morning to arrive at the place they wanted to picnic. After lunch they rode on to the beach where they played different games. A horse race was also organized. Fun, fun !!
The ponies were really great and seamed to appreciate the change in their life as much as did the kids. It was big fun for all participants.
When the tide came up, the groupe went back home after having spent a really nice day.

Published 25 July 2013Ponyreiten mit Reiterspielen für die Kleinen auf ruhigen Shetlandponys bieten die Ecuries de la Gare das ganze Jahr in den Ferien, aber besonders im Juli und August an. Wir sind ganz in der Nähe von Valognes, Montebourg. Auch Utah Beach, Omaha Beach und Barfleur sind nicht zu weit enfernt.
Spielerischer Umgang mit den Ponys lässt jegliche Furcht vergessen und die Reiterferien zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis für die Kleinen werden.

Les Ecuries de la Gare organise a lovely trekking on horseback, crossing all those typical villages of Normandy on Thursday 20th june from 1.30 pm – 4.30 to discover Quinéville beach, one of the sauvage beaches of La Manche.

Published 12 February 2013Silvia Schoemaker from the« BLUE JACKEROO STABLES » Holland, Dutch Championship winner Western Riding 2004 comes back to lower Normandy to animate some basic clinics in Western Riding at the Ecuries de la Gare near Sainte Mère Eglise.
She can also ride your horse or give private lessons in Western Riding here in Cotentin, Normandy.
On Sunday march 3 and Monday march 4 there will be a basic clinic on level 1 (beginners) and level 2 ( for who joint the clinic last time). Also a trail and western pleasure clinic!
During the week (Silvia will stay until 10th march appx) there are possibilities for private lessons and that Silvia works your horse. Rates for private lessons € 28.- members and € 33.-€ non- members, and riding your horse € 15.- members and 25 € non-members.
In the basic clinic level 1 Silvia will explain how important it is how you use your weight on your horse and how to make your horse more sensible. Problems can be solved and make progress! Silvia will work only in the walk and trot and the basic clinic takes about 2 hours.
In the basic clinic level 2 Silvia will repeat the exercises from the last clinic (level 1), fix some problems and learn you new exercises, in this clinic Silvia will also work in gallop. This clinic will also take 2 hours.
